Today’s daily horoscopes: Feb. 18, 2024

The first moments of Pisces season are a gentle rocking of the spirit, the opposite of a lullaby, a soft nudge meant to start the process of consciousness. It’s so much nicer to be awakened with warmth and gentleness than with adrenaline-producing alarms that jar us into a different state. The new season arrives on lapping waves that kiss the shore.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Today is nonstop movement toward one particular goal — an aim that has you sometimes going in circles or doubling back to progress. It’s like a drawing exercise — the one where you’re not allowed to take your pen off the paper for the entirety of the sketch.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You may find yourself stretching to meet one of your responsibilities and perhaps feeling a tad resentful that you can’t have more fun with your time. These little sacrifices will make a difference, though, so take heart. All in due time.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You have the chance to right a wrong, or at least illuminate the fact that it is wrong — an act of education, if executed with tact. Share your opinion and you’ll quickly learn that you’re not the only one who holds it.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). When you agreed to help out, you had no idea it would take this long or lead to so many other things, many of which are opportunities you’re glad to have. It’s still good to keep in mind that you can, at any point at all, change your mind.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). As for the rebel inside you, sometimes it has a cause, and more often, being rebellious is enough of a purpose all on its own. That raucous energy is stirring. It will feel good to match the aesthetics of your world to its renegade spirit.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You’ve already proven yourself. You don’t have to talk about your work, defend your actions or explain yourself in any way. You’ve earned this level of respect and acceptance.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You’ll get information in a psychic flash and follow through immediately on the impulse — good, because this one can’t wait. Some part of your mind is working out the risk-benefit ratio even as you’re already in motion.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). The prospect of making a certain person smile will occupy your thoughts and activities. Mahatma Gandhi suggested, “To give pleasure to a single heart by a single act is better than a thousand heads bowing in prayer.”

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Justice will prevail, although reciprocity won’t necessarily come in the form of a one-to-one, equal exchange with the same individuals. The giving and receiving may occur in different ways and from different sources.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). You’ll be spinning on good ideas in the morning and great ideas at night. Also, your work keeps improving because you’re not afraid to scrap the “meh” and go for something better.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You are effortlessly charming, and not only do you not have to work at it but you’re often unaware there’s anything out of the ordinary happening at all. Meanwhile, others experience you as extraordinary.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). You’re doing a juggling act today, and more items are thrown into your rotation, too. But no matter how many come, you only have to handle one at a time. Rhythm and grace are on your side.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (Feb. 18). You dreamed you would be able to have a certain special thing and share it with your loved ones and the world one day. This year, that day comes. More highlights: a discovery akin to stumbling upon diamonds, a serendipitous encounter that grows into a significant connection and a change at work that puts you in control. Capricorn and Virgo adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 48, 11, 36, 32 and 5.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: John Travolta was a television star before he lit up the big screen with his moves in “Saturday Night Fever” and song and dance chops in “Grease.” He’ll return to his musical roots in the upcoming musical comedy “That’s Amore.” Babies born Feb. 18 may be either Aquarius or Pisces. Travolta is an Aquarius with Mercury and Venus in empathetic Pisces — excellent aspects for artistic morphing into a character’s mind.
